Description
Fruit with a nice bright yellow skin (but there are variegated varieties of green or white), full of essential oils including limonene.
The pulp is divided into eight to ten wedges and the flavor is generally very sour and juicy, but this characteristic helps other foods to stand out when used as a seasoning.
However, it is not only useful for gastronomy, but also in herbal medicine. Its essential oils present in the peel and juice have a high antibiotic and disinfectant charge.
One of its peculiarities is that it ripens even when detached from the plant, which other citrus fruits do not.
